Actor/Comedian Bernie Mac Dead At 50

I'd read that he was admitted into the hospital earlier this week. This is shocking.

I remember the first time I saw him, years ago on Def Comendy Jam. It was his first national exposure. I died laughing. He had that old school style mixed with the edgier urban comedy that was becoming popular at the time.

But the clip below is from his return to Def Comedy Jam. It's one of his best.

Pixie is a fantastic mom, graphic artist, Bitch and friend. The best thing I ever did was the day I emailed her and asked if she would help firehead30 and me do something for callie89's birthday last year. That one email led to two, then three, then a daily routine that continues to today. Pixie isn't one to bitch much, but she's really good at listening to the rest of us do it. Then, she'll give you some little bit of down home wisdom, and you end up going, "yeah, you're absolutely right." It's a wonderful thing to have someone in your life that gets you that way. And Pixie does.

I USED to be really girly, but then I got married and had kids. Don't need to go out and strut my stuff anymore. Too tired to give a shit. :D

On the boyish side, I liked climbing trees, playing in the mud, riding my skateboard (I got nailed by the vice-principal senior year for riding it down the hallway), face-planted into a STOP sign on my bike (it was either that or go through the back of a VW...I chose the STOP sign)...umm...joined the Navy and was stationed on a ship full of guys, could out-swear any sailor around...

Okay, yeah, not very girly.

So, the power went out about two hours ago.

My laptop battery lasts about an hour and 15, cause I had it on the highest setting. And no wireless, cause no signal.

No AC.

Did I mention it's hotter than the seventh circle of hell???

So the last time I called PG&E (Pacific Gas & Electric), they said 7am.

So I had 14 minutes left on my battery, and thank you lord, the power came back!!!

The rowdy little ankle-biters have gone home to annoy their parents instead of me, the AC is on, the man is watching the season premiere of Burn Notice...I'm good now.

I'm such a whiny-ass, huh?

ETA: I just got home from work, where I was when I posted this, and it occurred to me that some people may not know what caused this. Suffice it to say that I'm talking about a fairly new comm. Let me also add that what happened was totally not cool, and I hope that the people involved find a way to resolve this. Maybe they can, maybe not. But hopefully this will serve as a reminder that there are real people behind these journals, and they have feelings, too.
